George was a real Gentleman. He started me off in my very brief career with BR (W) at Ealing. When I was a trainee he'd often check to see all was going well. I remember his bowler hat and the pride in sending off the most important daily train - just about the only one that stopped at Platform 1 at Ealing Broadway - the train for Worcester. A kind dedicated and professional man.
